Thanks for your post on Doug Henning. I love the wonder that magic *can* inspire in an audience. It echoes Jay Sankey in an article entitled “Magic as Bloodsport”. In the article, Jay said that magicians used to be about charming and winning their audiences.
In truth…that’s really what magic is, isn’t it? More than tricks, it is about wonder, joy, fun, laughter, amazement. It defies description, which is why it gets its own word: in short, it’s “Magic”.
In some ways, magic is more about real life than most things that we call “real”. Thanks for reinforcing what magic is really about…a moment in which walls fall down, the heart is touched, and the soul is inspired.
